Diablo 3 Crafting System

In Diablo III, crafting will be performed by the blacksmith caravan. Instead of the player learning diablo 3 crafting recipes, the NPCs in the game will do it.

For now, we only know of the mystic, the jeweler, and the blacksmith caravan. All these artisans can be upgraded to unlock advanced recipes. The components for the diablo 3 recipes will be salvaged from loot that you get off monsters.

Each time you salvage an item, there's a random chance of getting a rare material. Luck is a factor while you salvage. More detail on this will be revealed as the game gets closer to release.

To level up an artisan, you'll need to allocate gold and materials to them. If you have enough loot, you can level up all of them.
